WAS EPIC, and not in the epic-is-over-used sort of way, but actually epic.
I don't have quite as much to rant about this time lol, but despite that, this year may have been even better than last year, if thats possible. o_o
we felt like total veterans, lulz.
DAY ONE
WOW >9000 people took our pictures this day! I was really shocked. I wonder if any of them will end up here? My only regret is smiling so much haha, I don't think there's a single picture anywhere without me smiling. Not that's bad though xD just a little one dimensional. I should stop complaining before I go on for a page though xD*end rant*. We got there around three, give or take, dropped our things off at the hotel, and then headed back to the con. I always love looking at the streets. It's so much fun to see all those dressed up people running around. xD gives me warm fuzzies. I was in such an excited haze that I can't remember friday very well, other than it was a lot of excitement. And hot. xD It was really hot in the con center lol. I remember why I wanted to save like 2,000 dollars last year. ;A; everything is so costly. Think they would sell more if they lowered the prices? I loved looking in the artists alley, too. Gosh its just so impressive. Maybe someday I'll be there~! *dreamdream*. After the market closed, we went outside and wandered around quite a bit, just marveling at all the cosplays. We met some totally great Soul Eater cosplayers, particularly a certain Black*Star..xD By the end of the day, we hung around the garden at the front of the Hyatt and had a pretty intense grass fight. I'll be sure to post some pictures later. ;D I think Q took some pretty great photos of it. xD
DAY TWO
Was really great. I slept over at (for no better way to refer to her xD)Liz-Onee-chan's house, and we totally had a great time talking about the weirdest things and what we would do tomorrow. We got there at 8, which was a bit of a mistake, considering we had to wait around outside in our middrifts xD SO COLD! And our hats were totally going to blow away any second, but we held tight. once we got into the lobby, we casually hung around, {Liz tried to teach me her version of Patty-Cake, so difficult I tell you!) and we waited for our Kid-kun. Liz was smart enough to bring a nail file to look in character, but I left my Giraffe at home again, darn it! xDD Kid took his sweet time, but he tried to convince us that he ran there all the way from his hotel for us anyways (I think not!! xDD). And we spent a load of time in the dealers' room again xDD. Its so easy to. I got stuff for my friends who couldn't make it, but I took it out at home, and I didn't get them as much as I thought I did. xDD; oh noes. I feel bad, I totally should have gotten them posters or something >o<. MY TOTAL HIGHLIGHT WAS, OMG I got a picture with a REITA cosplayer. ;A; I can't even express how amazing that felt. and for like three seconds, he was Liz's and my pimp. Oh god it was so great. And he apologized for hugging us, poor guy xD.
After we finished with artists ally and dealers room, (it got too stuffy for us), we trekked to Mc.Donalds. Which is really a lot further than we thought. Our Kid-kun was dying by the time we got there, Liz had to give him a piggy back xD. Kid and Q filled their tanks, while Liz and I nomed an apple pie-hot pocket fusion. which was way better than just a hot pocket. Mc.Donalds is so creative. We got back and spent some time hanging around waiting for our photoshoot, which was at four. Photoshoot was very exciting. So many Steins, my gosh! My favourite was the Giriko. What a hottie ;D. "Looks like you ladies need a lumberjack!!! *rips open shirt*". He was hella funny. There were some really adorable cosplayers, including the smallest little Maka, a super cute chrona, a little Medusa, a White*Star (EPICWINBACKFLIP), two Excaliburs, and a Manka (in other words, a Maka with a moustache. I wish I was joking. It was amazing.) We all got to make this face for a photo by the way:
, although I couldn't hold it very long without laughing xD. One Excalibur in particular was amazing, for the sake that he made a ' paper moon ' ;D and later in the day, he actually, really really, like for real and not for fake, brought me a paper giraffe whos neck he allowed me to break. It was a great honour. Everyone was so nice, too. During the shoot, I couldn't help but admire the Gurren Lagann one that was taking place across the street. So awesome. Also the Hetalia one that was right next door. SO CUTE ;A;.
After the photoshoot, we wandered around aimlessly and rested up until like 6:30, which was somehow totally okay. We really didn't mind. We went upstairs in that hotell across the street and found Gin, who we had been bumping into all day. While we talked to her, AH MY GAWSH. WE FINALLY FOUND THE ELUSIVE KAMINA-SAMA. HE WAS JUST STANDING THERE ACROSS THE LOBBY. It had been my goal all day to find one and give him a massive hug. Liz and I booked it, running like a ghost was after us in an effort to reach him. We were seperated by a screen door and a thousand people. DIVINE INTERVENTION. D: After running into the screen door (which I wasn't prepared to rip down) we took the long way and finally reached him. And then he and I reached for the heavens for a photo. Oh, I could so go on, but I think I've already included more information than necessary. xDD I had a total case of what they must call rabid-fan-itis. While Liz and I gleefully ran away I called back "You're awesomeee! :'DDD" and he answered nonchalantly, "I know." What a great Kamina. ;A;
After that, we met back up with Q, who had been at an Evangalion panel untill then. After that, well, there was a Gurren Lagann showing in the downstairs!! ;A; we were so late for it, but I got everyone to see like five minutes of it, and I was so glad to hear that I hand't built it up for nothing and they loved it. Kid-kun totally thought I was joking when I would talk about 'manly combining'! I can't blame him, it seems far too good to be true. xD
Then, untill nine, we chilled upstairs in a drawing circle. I felt so at home, sitting on a comfy carpet and drawing. neee~! <333 I started a kamina, although I was havingg a hard time doing it straight from memory, If you know me at all, you'd know i don't even have a memory D;. So then I went on to draw Viral, who I was lucky enough to have a reference of. xD All in all, ACEN 09 was amazing. I have to wrap it up so i can get to bed soon, since i have to try really hard not to kill everyone highway driving tomorrow in BTW. ;A; I just want to say that I loved this cosplay, and I would totally do it again any day. Code Geass next year, it seems. Thats what our two who couldn't make it want, which seems totally exciting. I have to actually watch it sometime. I will either be Tianzi or Anya, I guess ;w;. Sounds like fun. <3
